The seat base is sprung and has been well padded to give a comfortable seat along with the padded back rest. The chairs are upholstered in a red and gold heavy woven patterned material. The gilded frames have lovely carved designs with a ornately raised back in the centre of the chair back. The chairs have an overall height of 47.5″ (121cm), with an overall width of 30″ (79cm) and an overall depth of 26.5 (68cm). It has a backrest height at highest of 31.5″ (80cm), a seat height of 15.5″ (40cm), a seat width of 23″ (58cm) and a seat depth of 23″ (58cm). This attractive pair of gilded arm chairs remains in a good solid condition with only minor surface marks commensurate with age and usage, including some very light indentations on the frame and some minor marks to the material from past use. There is some light wear to the gilding primarily to the arms and base of the legs. This remains a very stylish and elegant pair of arm chairs.
